Lakota in America

Square – Documentary

Lakota in America tells the story of Genevieve Iron Lightening, a young Lakota dancer, who after running away from home and an abusive family situation finds community in an organization on the reservation called the Cheyenne River Youth Project. Through after school programs, early job training, and cultural activities, CRYP is dedicated to nurturing the Lakota youth into prosperity while upholding their proud native heritage.

This film is the 3rd in the "For Every Dream" series developed with Square — a series that explores America through the lens of small business in unexpected communities.
