Exploring the Maya World

In the late 1880s, British explorer Alfred Maudslay spent decades documenting the monuments of the Maya in Mexico and Central America, but the plate glass photographs and plaster casts he made remained locked in the British Museum's vault - until now. In a project spanning over 150 years, and in a partnership between the museum and Google Arts & Culture, Maudslay's work has been digitized and preserved for the whole world to experience.
