Ashley Rodholm is a director and editor who grew up in Palm Springs, California. She set her sights on directing at a young age but started her career as an editor and developed her powerful story instincts in documentaries. Her documentary shorts have won wide acclaim; her first receiving the Golden Gate Award First Prize at the SFFILM in 2013 and her most recent making headlines in Forbes, The Verge, and Variety for its heartfelt depiction of legendary Disney animator Glen Keane. 

As an editor, Ashley worked with Marvel Studios’ screenwriter Nicole Perlman on her directorial debut The Slows. She then cut EXIT 12 by director Mohammad Gorjestani, which went on to win Best Documentary Short at SXSW 2019 among many others before being acquired by Searchlight Pictures. Whether on set or in post, Ashley’s focus is on bringing to light the honesty and humanity behind every good story.
